A ground-up collaborative document that consolidates the knowledge, views, concerns, and recommendations of Singapore society for the conservation of terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity.
This document has been synthesised with the input and through the consultation of a diverse group of academics, subject matter experts, and civil society representatives. It compiles the current state of knowledge across various aspects of terrestrial and freshwater environments, reviews legal framework protecting these habitats and biodiversity, and assesses management strategies in place across Singapore. We are deeply grateful to the contributors of this document. The civil and academic conservation societies of Singapore are not monoliths. The people in these circles hold an incredibly diverse range of opinions. They employ many approaches to enhance and advocate for the protection of terrestrial and freshwater habitats and biodiversity in Singapore. This document attempts to capture the essence of this diversity. |
